Men's World Cup
The 74th Men's Ice Hockey World Championship took place from May 7 to 23, 2010 in Cologne , Mannheim and Gelsenkirchen in Germany . The opening match between Germany and the United States of America took place in the Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen in front of 77,803 spectators, which was a new world record in ice hockey.

The 12th Junior World Championship (U18) was held from April 13 to 23, 2010 in Minsk and Babrujsk in Belarus . The other tournaments took place in the following locations:
