Annett Hesselbarth

Annett Hesselbarth (born June 4, 1966 in Halle (Saale) ) is a former German athlete who was one of the world's best 400-meter runners in the early 1990s . In 1990 she won the gold medal at the European Championships with the GDR's 4 x 400 meter relay (3: 21.02 min, together with Grit Breuer , Manuela Derr and Petra Schersing ). In the 400-meter run, she was fourth at these European championships.

Her greatest success was the first place with the German 4 x 400 meter relay at the World Indoor Championships in 1991 (3: 27.22 min, indoor world record : Sandra Seuser , Katrin Schreiter , Annett Hesselbarth, Grit Breuer ).

At the 1991 World Championships she was used in the preliminary run in the German 4 x 400 meter relay, which was third in the final. Hesselbarth started for the SC Chemie Halle (after the end of the GDR: SV Halle). In her active days she was 1.76 m tall and weighed 65 kg.
