Olha Mykolajiwna Semljak ( Ukrainian Ольга Миколаївна Земляк , Eng. Transcription Olha Zemlyak; * 16th January 1990 in Rivne ) is a Ukrainian sprinter , referring to the 400-meter dash specializes.

Athletic career

In 2009 she tested positive for norandrosterone and banned for two years for this violation of the doping rules.

In 2012 she was disqualified at the World Indoor Championships in Istanbul with the Ukrainian team in the 4 x 400 meter relay because of crossing the level. At the European Championships in Helsinki she was fourth over 400 meters and won the Ukrainian 4 x 400 meter relay, and at the Olympic Games in London she came in third place with the relay.

In 2013, she retired at the European Indoor Championships in Gothenburg over 400 meters in the run and was fifth in the relay. At the World Championships in Moscow , she contributed to fifth place in the Ukrainian 4-by-400-meter relay with an effort in the run-up.

The following year, she won silver in the individual and relay competitions at the 2014 European Championships in Zurich . At the Athletics Continental Cup in Marrakech , she was fifth over 400 meters and second in the European 4 x 400 meter relay.

At the 2015 World Championships in Beijing, she was eliminated over 400 meters in the preliminary run and was sixth in the 4-by-400-meter relay . One day before the start of the World Championships in London , she and her compatriot Olessja Powch were convicted of doping and were then prohibited from starting. In 2018, Semljak was banned retrospectively for eight years. Semljak was unsuccessful in the appeal proceedings before the International Sports Court , but the start of the suspension was set for July 15, 2016.
