Angelika Handt

Angelika Handt , married Kahl (born July 10, 1954 in Radebeul ), is a German athlete who was a successful 400-meter runner in the 1970s - starting for the GDR .

At the European Championships in 1974 she won the gold medal with the 4 x 400 meter relay (3: 25.2 min, together with Waltraud Dietsch , Ellen Streidt and Brigitte Rohde ). In the 400-meter individual race of these European Championships, she was fifth (51.24 s). At the indoor championships of the same year she was fourth.

Angelika Handt started for the SC Einheit Dresden . In 1974 she was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in bronze. In her active days she was 1.70 m tall and 64 kg.
