Nwanyika Jenete C. "Anyika" Onuora (born October 28, 1984 in Liverpool ) is a British sprinter .
Athletic career
Anyika Onuora gained her first international experience at the 2003 Junior European Championships in Tampere , where she finished fifth in the 100-meter run in 11.72 s and with the British 4 x 100-meter relay in 44.81 s Won silver medal behind France. For two years she was eliminated from the U23 European Championships in Erfurt with 24.29 seconds over 200 meters in the lead and was disqualified with the relay in the final. The following year she took part for the first time for England at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne and reached the semi-finals there over 100 meters, in which she was eliminated with 11.46 s. In addition, she won the silver medal behind the team from Jamaica with the English relay in 43.43 seconds. Also at the European Championships in Gothenburg in August, she won the silver medal behind the Russians in 43.51 seconds. There she reached the semi-finals , in which she was eliminated with 50.87 s. They also won the relay in 3: 23.62 min the bronze medal behind Jamaica and the United States. The following year she won the bronze medal behind the Italian Libania Grenot and Floria Gueï from France at the European Championships in Amsterdam in the individual race over 400 meters in 51.47 s . In addition, she won the relay in 3: 25.05 min before France and Italy. She then took part again in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where she won the bronze medal behind the teams from the United States in the final in 3: 25.88 min with the relay team consisting of Eilidh Doyle , Onuora, Emily Diamond and Christine Ohuruogu States and Jamaica won.
