final

August 27, 2015, 8:40 p.m. (2:40 p.m. CEST )

The favorite of this race was first and foremost the American Allyson Felix, who, in addition to the relay, focused entirely on the 400-meter run as an individual discipline and did not also start over 200 meters . Their rivals included primarily the British world champion in 2013 , Olympic champion in 2008 and Olympic silver medalist from 2012 Christine Ohuruogu, the runners from Jamaica who could take the same four here, with the World Cup -third of 2013 Stephenie Ann McPherson, the Olympic Fifth 2012 Novlene Williams-Mills, the second fastest runner from the semifinals here in Beijing Shericka Jackson and Christine Day. Shaunae Miller from the Bahamas was also the third fastest in the semifinals.

In the final, defending champion Ohuruogu started the race quickly and was ahead after two hundred meters. In the finish curve, favorite Felix pushed herself to the front and went as the leader on the last hundred meters. Jackson and Miller followed her little back. Ohuruogu had dropped to fourth. Allyson Felix had enough reserves on the home straight and brought her lead of around four tenths of a second to the finish. Shaunae Miller had the best stamina compared to her other competitors and was runner-up in the world championship. They were followed by the four Jamaicans with Shericka Jackson in third place in front of Christine Day, Stephenie Ann McPherson and Novlene Williams-Mills. The American Phyllis Francis was seventh ahead of Christine Ohuruogu, who ran out of strength in the end. All three medalists undercut the 50-second mark. Allyson Felix set a new world record for the year with 49.26 seconds.
