Phyllis Francis (born May 4, 1992 in New York ) is an American sprinter who specializes in the 400-meter run .

In 2014 she was starting NCAA indoor champion for the University of Oregon and set a US indoor record with 50.46 seconds.

In 2015 she won the IAAF World Relays in Nassau in the 4 x 400 meter relay . At the World Championships in Beijing , she was seventh in the 400-meter competition and contributed to the US team winning silver in the 4-by-400-meter relay with a commitment in the run-up . At the World Championships in London 2017, she surprisingly became world champion over 400 meters with a new personal best of 49.92 s.
