Yuliya Pechonkina ( Russian Юлия Сергеевна Печёнкина . English transcription Yuliya Pechonkina , born Nossowa , Носова - Nosova * 21st April 1978 in Krasnoyarsk ) is a former Russian hurdler who at the 2005 World Championships in Helsinki Gold 400 meter hurdles won . In addition, on August 8, 2003, she improved the world record in this discipline to 52.34 s, which was the highest performance by July 2019.

In the 2006 season, she blocked a foot injury that she tried to heal with vodka compresses.

Petschonkina had to cancel her participation in the 2009 World Championships in Berlin due to a sinus infection and ended her sports career in the same year.

In follow-up tests carried out in 2016 for the 2005 championships, Pechonkina was also suspected of having taken doping substances.

She is 1.76 m tall and last weighed 66 kg.
