Francena McCorory
Francena McCorory (born October 20, 1988 in Los Angeles ) is an American sprinter . In 2011 she was world champion and 2012 Olympic champion with the 4 x 400 meter relay .
She finished second in the 400-meter run at the US Championships in 2010 and 2011 . In 2010, McCorory ran a national record in Fayetteville in 50.54 seconds. At the 2011 World Athletics Championships in Daegu, McCorory led the US team around Sanya Richards-Ross , Allyson Felix and Jessica Beard to victory in the 4 x 400 meter relay as the final skier. She had previously finished fourth in the 400-meter run.
In 2012 she won the Adidas Grand Prix in New York and improved her personal best to 50.06 seconds. At the Olympic Games in London she won gold with the US relay team in the line-up of DeeDee Trotter , Allyson Felix, Francena McCorory and Sanya Richards-Ross. She finished seventh in the individual run.
At the World Championships in Moscow in 2013 and in Beijing in 2015 , she won the silver medal with the US relay.
McCorory studied psychology at Hampton University .
