Me'Lisa Barber (born October 4, 1980 in Livingston , New Jersey ) is an American sprinter .

Barber began her career as a 200 and 400 meter runner . Her greatest success over 400 meters was winning the gold medal with the US 4 x 400 meter relay at the 2003 World Championships in Paris / Saint-Denis . After she could not qualify for the US eliminations for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens over 200 and 400 meters, she switched to the 100-meter course in 2005 and immediately became American champion. At the World Championships in Helsinki in 2005 , she was fifth over 100 meters and won the gold medal with the 4-by-100-meter relay . At the 2006 World Indoor Championships in Moscow , she won gold in the 60-meter run .

Barber occasionally works as a model for women's fashion. Her twin sister Mikele is also a successful track and field athlete.
