Torri Edwards (born January 31, 1977 in Fontana , California ) is an American athlete .

Her special disciplines are the 100-meter and 200-meter run . At the 2003 World Championships in Paris , she became world champion over 100 meters and she took second place over 200 meters. She also won a bronze medal at the 2000 Olympic Games with the US 4 x 100 meter relay .

On August 7, 2004, Torri Edwards was suspended for two years for doping. She had previously tested positive for the stimulant nikethamide . The athlete had previously qualified over 100 and 200 meters as well as with the sprint relay for the 2004 Olympic Games , in which she could no longer participate. At the 2007 World Championships in Osaka , she won gold in the 4 x 100 meter relay.

Torri Edwards has a competition weight of 57 kg with a height of 1.63 m.
