Patricia Girard

Patricia Girard (temporarily Girard-Léno ; born April 8, 1968 in Pointe-à-Pitre , France ) is a French hurdler with the 100-meter distance as a special route.

She began her sporting career as a sprinter . At the Olympic Games in Seoul in 1988 , she reached the semi-finals over 100 meters . In 1990 she was banned for two years for doping . At the Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992 , she reached the quarter-finals over 100 m.

At world championships she won the bronze medal in the 4 x 100 meter relay in Athens in 1997 , the silver medal in Seville in 1999 and the gold medal in Paris / Saint-Denis in 2003 . In the 100 meter hurdles she reached the semifinals in Stuttgart in 1993 , in Gothenburg in 1995 , and in Edmonton in 1997 and 2001 . She finished eighth in 1999 and seventh in 2003.

At the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta , she won the bronze medal behind the Swede Ludmila Engquist (gold) and the Slovenian Brigita Bukovec (silver). Four years later she was eliminated from the quarterfinals of the Sydney Olympics . At the European Championships in Munich in 2002 , she was fourth.

At indoor world championships she won bronze twice in the 60-meter hurdles : 1993 in Toronto and 1997 in Paris .

In 1997 she won gold at the Mediterranean Games .

In total, she was French champion over 100 meter hurdles seven times (1993, 1995, 1997, 1999, 2001-2003).

Patricia Girard is the ex-wife of the kickboxer Eddy Léno.
