Brigita Bukovec (born May 21, 1970 in Ljubljana ) is a former Slovenian athlete and Olympic medalist.

From 1989 to 1991 Brigita Bukovec won the Yugoslav championship in the 100-meter hurdles three times in a row . In 1992 she was the first Slovenian champion after independence. In 1993 and 1997 she was again national champion.

At the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, ​​Bukovec was eliminated in the semifinals. She reached her first big final in the adult division in 1993 at the World Indoor Championships in Toronto , where she finished seventh. In 1994 at the European Championships in Helsinki she missed a medal in fourth place in 13.01 seconds by just 0.08 seconds, but won the Goodwill Games . In 1995 she won bronze at the Indoor World Championships in Barcelona in 7.93 seconds, just a hundredth of a second behind Cuban Aliuska López in first place and Kazakh Olga Schischigina in second place.
