Olga Wassiljewna Schischigina ( Kazakh Ольга Васильевна Шишигина , English transcription Olga Shishigina ; born December 23, 1968 in Alma-Ata ) is a Kazakh hurdler and Olympic champion .

Schischigina set the current Asian record in the 100-meter hurdles in 1995 with 12.44 s and won the silver medal in the 100-meter hurdles at the World Athletics Championships in Gothenburg . From 1996 to 1998 she was banned for taking prohibited doping drugs. At the 1999 World Championships in Seville, she was fourth. She won gold at the 1999 World Indoor Championships .

At the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney she won the gold medal in the 100-meter hurdles ahead of Glory Alozie (Nigeria) and Melissa Morrison (USA). She is the first female athlete to win an Olympic gold medal for the young state of Kazakhstan.

The following year she won the bronze medal at the World Championships in Edmonton .
