Vera Yakovlevna Komissova

Vera Yakovlevna Komissowa ( Russian Вера Яковлевна Комисова ., English transcription Vera Komisova, born Никитина - Nikitina; * 11. June 1953 in Leningrad ) is a former Russian hurdler and sprinter who for the Soviet Union starting Olympic champion was.

In 1979 she was fourth over the 60 m hurdles at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Vienna and won bronze over 100 m hurdles at the Universiade .

The following year she was fifth at the Hallen-Em in Sindelfingen . At the Olympic Games in Moscow she won over 100 m hurdles in front of Johanna Klier from the GDR (silver) and Lucyna Langer from Poland (bronze). In the 4 x 100 meter relay , she won silver together with her teammates Lyudmila Scharkowa , Wera Anissimowa and Natalja Botschina .

At the European Athletics Championships in Athens in 1982 she was sixth in the 100 m hurdles .

In 1980 she became Soviet champion over 100 m and 100 m hurdles, in 1979 Soviet indoor champion over 100 m hurdles.

Vera Komissowa is 1.69 m tall and weighed 60 kg at competition times.
