Alina Henadseuna Talaj ( Belarusian Аліна Генадзеўна Талай , English transcription Alina Talay ; born May 14, 1989 in Orscha ) is a Belarusian hurdler who specializes in the 100 meter distance .

Athletic career

At the European Championships in Barcelona in 2010 , she reached the semi-finals, but was disqualified there. Over 60 m hurdles she was fifth at the European Indoor Championships 2011 in Paris and won bronze at the 2012 Indoor World Championships in Istanbul.

At the European Championships in Helsinki she won the original silver medal, but she was awarded the gold medal in 2015 because the winner, Nevin Yanit, was disqualified for doping. At the Olympic Games in London shortly afterwards, she reached the semifinals in a new personal best. In March 2015 she won the gold medal in the 60-meter hurdles at the European Indoor Championships in Prague, Czech Republic .

At the 2015 World Championships in Beijing, she won the bronze medal over 100 m hurdles. In 2016 she won the silver medal at the European Championships in Amsterdam . At the European Indoor Athletics Championships in 2017 , she failed to defend her title from Prague one more time, but won the silver medal behind German Cindy Roleder . At the European Championships 2018 in Berlin, Talaj reached the final run, where she was disqualified.
