Nevin Yanıt at the 2010 European Championships

Nevin Yanıt (born February 16, 1986 in Mersin ) is a Turkish hurdler who specializes in the 100-meter course .

Career

In 2007 she won the silver medal at the Universiade in Bangkok . At the World Championships in Osaka and the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing , she reached the semifinals.

In 2009 she won gold at the Mediterranean Games in Pescara and the Universiade in Bangkok . At the World Championships in Berlin , she was eliminated in the semi-finals.

In 2010 she won the gold medal at the European Championships in Barcelona with the national record of 12.63 s. Two years later she defended her title in 12.81 s at the European Championships in Helsinki . At the Olympic Games in London in 2012 , she was able to improve her Turkish record to 12.58 s, making her fifth as the best European.

At the European Indoor Championships in Gothenburg in 2013 , she won the gold medal with a new Turkish record of 7.89 s.

Nevin Yanıt is studying sports science at Mersin University .

Doping ban 2015

In August 2013, Yanıt was banned from competitions for two years after testing positive for stanozolol and testosterone in a doping control at the PSD Bank Meeting in Düsseldorf in February . After an objection by the IAAF, the ban was extended to three years by the International Court of Justice for Sports.
