Tiffany Porter ( Tiffany Adaez Porter, née Ofili ; born November 13, 1987 in Ypsilanti , Michigan ) is a British hurdler who specializes in the 100-meter distance .

Life

The daughter of a Nigerian and a British woman grew up in the United States . Initially starting for the USA, she became NACAC runner-up in 2007. During her pharmacy studies at the University of Michigan , she was NCAA champion three times in a row (2007–2009) and in 2008 and 2009 NCAA indoor championship in the 60 meter hurdles .

From September 4, 2010, it started for the United Kingdom. At the European Indoor Championships 2011 in Paris , she won silver over the 60 meter hurdles. On May 29, it improved Angie Thorp's 15-year-old British record by three hundredths of a second to 12.77 s. On July 22, she managed another national record and a personal best with 12.60 s (she had set up the old 12.73 s as a US athlete). At the World Championships in Daegu , she was fourth with her third national record of 12.56 s.

The following year she won silver at the World Indoor Championships in 2012 in Istanbul , but was eliminated in the semifinals of the Olympic Games in London .

In 2013 she won the Super League of the European Team Championship in Gateshead . She won bronze at the World Championships in Moscow and stayed one hundredth of a second above the British record set by Jessica Ennis in 2012 in 12.55 s . At the European Championships in Zurich in 2014 , she won the title in 12.76 seconds, and in 2016 in Amsterdam she won the bronze medal.

Tiffany Porter has been married to the American hurdler Jeff Porter since May 2011 . Her sister Cindy Ofili , who is seven years her junior, is also a world-class hurdler.
