Carlette Guidry (also: Guidry-White ; born September 4, 1968 in Houston ) is a former American sprinter .
At the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, she won the gold medal in the 4 x 100 meter relay . Together with Evelyn Ashford , Esther Jones and Gwen Torrence , she relegated the relay of the United Team and Nigeria to their places in 42.11 seconds . In the 200-meter run , Guidry finished fifth in 22.30 s.
In 1995 she won the bronze medal in the 60-meter run at the World Indoor Championships in Barcelona and won the gold medal in the 4-by-100-meter relay at the World Championships in Gothenburg . In 42.12 s the US quartet, consisting of Celena Mondie-Milner , Guidry, Chryste Gaines and Torrence, prevailed against the teams from Jamaica and Germany . In the 100-meter run , Guidry narrowly missed a medal in fourth.
At the 1996 Olympic Games , she was again a member of the US 4 x 100 meter relay. However, this time it was only used in the qualifying round. In the finals, Gaines, Devers, Inger Miller and Gwen Torrence won the gold medal for the United States. In the 200 meter run, Guidry finished eighth in Atlanta.
She became national outdoor champion in 1991 over 100 meters and in 1994 and 1996 over 200 meters. In the hall she won the US title in 1995 over 200 meters and 2000 over 60 meters.
Carlette Guidry is 1.70 m and weighed 66 kg during her active time. She was trained by Bev Kearney. In 1991 she graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in sociology . In 1994 she married the former sprinter Mon White.
