Mary Carew

Mary Carew (born September 8, 1913 in Medford , Massachusetts , † July 12, 2002 in Framingham , Massachusetts; after marriage to Mary Armstrong ) was an American athlete and Olympic champion .

From 1929 to 1932 she won the US Indoor Championships over 40 yards four times in a row. At the X. Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 1932 , she won the gold medal in the 4 x 100 meter relay race together with her teammates Evelyn Furtsch , Annette Rogers and Wilhelmina von Bremen in front of the team from Canada and the team from Great Britain .

With a height of 1.57 m, her competition weight was 45 kg.
