Martha Hudson

Martha Hudson (born March 21, 1939 in Eastman , Georgia , after marrying Pennyman ) is a former American athlete and 1960 Olympic champion .

In 1959 she was the AAU hall champion over 100 yards. At the US Olympic eliminations, she qualified for the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome.

In Rome she was eliminated in the interim over 100 meters . She won gold with the US 4 x 100 meter relay . The cast Martha Hudson, Lucinda Williams , Barbara Jones and Wilma Rudolph set a new world record with 44.4 seconds. In the final, the season ran for 44.5 seconds and won 0.3 seconds ahead of the German season. The season was very well-rehearsed as all sprinters studied and trained at Tennessee State University .

Martha Hudson had a competition weight of 53 kg with a height of 1.52 m.
