Christiane Krause (athlete)

Christiane Krause (born December 14, 1950 in Berlin ) is a former German sprinter who started for the Federal Republic.

At the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, she was the starting runner of the German quartet in the 4 x 100 meter relay . Together with Ingrid Mickler , Annegret Richter and Heide Rosendahl she won the gold medal in 42.81 s.

She also started in these games in the 200-meter run , but was eliminated in the intermediate run. In 1973 she was fifth in the 60-meter run at the European Indoor Championships in Rotterdam and won gold as the starting runner of the 4-by-1 lap relay together with Annegret Richter, Inge Helten and Rita Wilden . At the European Championships in 1974 she was seventh over 200 meters in 23.78 s.

Christiane Krause started for the ASC Darmstadt . In her active days she was 1.64 m tall and weighed 54 kg.

Born in Berlin, she lived with her husband Hans-Joachim Todd, who died in 2010, in Hamburg for many years before moving to Sonthofen in 2011, where she works as a wheelchair coach.
