Natasha Morrison (born November 17, 1992 in Saint Catherine Parish ) is a Jamaican sprinter who specializes in the 100-meter run .

Athletic career

Natasha Morrison gained her first international experience at the Pan American Junior Championships 2011 in Miramar , where she finished fifth in the 100 meter run in 11.59 s and with the Jamaican 4 x 100 meter relay in 45.37 s won the silver medal. At the IAAF World Relays 2015 in the Bahamas , she was used with the relay in the run-up, which later won the gold medal with a different cast. In addition, she qualified for the first time for the World Championships in Beijing , where she finished seventh in the 100-meter competition in 11.02 s and won the 4-by-100-meter relay competition . The Jamaican quartet with Veronica Campbell-Brown , Morrison, Elaine Thompson and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce set a national record in the 4 x 100 meter relay with 41.07 seconds . At the IAAF World Relays 2017 she came second this time with 42.95 s and qualified again for the World Championships in London , where she was eliminated in the semifinals over 100 meters with 11.15 s . With the Jamaican relay she won the bronze medal behind the teams from the United States and the United Kingdom in 42.19 s in the final .

The following year she took part for the first time in the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast and finished fifth over 100 meters in 11.31 s. In addition, she won the silver medal with the relay behind the English women in 42.52 s. In early August, she won the relay at the Central America and Caribbean Games (CAC) in Barranquilla in 43.41 s. At the IAAF World Relays 2019 in Yokohama , she finished second behind the United States with the 4 x 100 meter relay in 43.29 s. She then took part in the Pan American Games in Lima , where she finished sixth in 11.40 s and was only fifth with the relay in 43.74 s. In October it was used in the relay at the World Championships in Doha in the run-up and thus contributed to winning the gold medal of the Jamaican team.
