Mikele "Miki" Barber (born October 4, 1980 in Livingston ) is an American sprinter .

At the beginning of her career, she mostly appeared in the 400-meter run . At the World Junior Athletics Championships in Annecy in 1998 , she won the bronze medal with the US 4 x 400 meter relay , over 400 m she finished eighth in 54.24 s.

As a student at the University of South Carolina , she attended two Universiads . In 1999 in Palma she secured second place over 400 m in 51.03 seconds. In 2001 in Beijing she won the bronze medal in 51.93 s over the same distance and the gold medal in the 4 x 400 meter relay.

She later focused on the 100-meter run . At the Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2007 , she won the gold medal over this distance in a personal best of 11.02 s and the silver medal with the 4 x 100 meter relay .

She celebrated her greatest success so far at the 2007 World Athletics Championships in Osaka . Together with Lauryn Williams , Allyson Felix and Torri Edwards , she won the gold medal for the United States in the 4 x 100 meter relay.

Mikele Barber is 1.57 m tall and has a competition weight of 52 kg. She is the twin sister of Me'Lisa Barber .
