Diane Williams
Diane Williams (born December 14, 1960 in Chicago ) is a former American athlete who specialized in the 100-meter run .
At the World Championships in Helsinki in 1983 Williams won the bronze medal over 100 meters with a time of 11.06 s, behind the two East German Marlies Göhr (10.97 s) and Marita Koch (11.02 s). Four years later, at the World Championships in Rome in 1987 , she won the title in the 4 x 100 meter relay . The American team with the cast Alice Brown , Diane Williams, Florence Griffith-Joyner and Pam Marshall relegated the relay of the GDR (41.95 s) and the Soviet Union (42.33 s) to their places in 41.58 s. In the 100-meter run, Williams finished fourth in Rome.
At a hearing in April 1989, Williams admitted doping with anabolic steroids from 1981 to 1984 . However, she said she later discontinued it because of severe side effects. Your trainer Chuck DeBus has been banned for life.
