Shana Cox

Shana Cox (born January 22, 1985 in Hicksville , New York ) is a British - American sprinter who specializes in the 400-meter run .

Life

Cox finished fifth over 200 meters at the 2004 Junior World Championships . In 2008 she became NCAA champion over 400 meters. As the daughter of British parents, she has dual citizenship and started working for the United Kingdom in 2011.

At the Indoor World Championships in 2012 she was fifth in the individual competition and won with the British team in the 4 x 400 meter relay . In the same year she achieved fourth place with the relay at the European Championships and fifth at the Olympic Games in London.

In March 2013, she won the gold medal in the 4 x 400 meter relay at the 2013 European Athletics Indoor Championships in Gothenburg, Sweden .

Shana Cox graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Psychology .
