Elea Mariama Diarra (born March 8, 1990 in Lyon ) is a French athlete who specializes in the 400-meter run . She achieved her greatest international success as a member of the French 4 x 400 meter relay .

Athletic career

In 2009 Diarra took part in their first international championships, the Junior European Championships in Novi Sad , Serbia . There she reached the semi-finals over 400 meters and won the bronze medal with the French relay. At the U23 European Championships in Ostrava , she reached the 400-meter semifinals again and won the bronze medal behind Russia and Ukraine with the relay. Her most significant international success to date was achieved by Diarra at the European Championships in Helsinki in 2012 , when she won the silver medal in the relay. She was part of the relay in the run-up.

In 2014 she helped the French relay to third place at the European team championships in Braunschweig , but could not secure a ticket for the European championships in Zurich , where the French won the gold medal in the relay. She finally won her first title at a major international event at the 2015 European Indoor Championships in Prague . The French relay won with Floria Gueï , Elea Mariama Diarra and Agnès Raharolahy and Marie Gayot as the final runner in a time of 3: 31.61 min. At the IAAF World Relays in the Bahamas, the French team finished fourth and sixth in the sprint relay. At the European Championships in Amsterdam in 2016 , she won the silver medal with the relay, but could not qualify for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro .
