Hanna Kosak

Hanna Kosak ( Belarusian Ганна Козак , English transcription Hanna Kozak ; born June 22, 1974 in Novalukoml , Wizebskaja Woblasz ) is a Belarusian sprinter who specializes in the 400-meter run .

In total, she was national champion seven times (1994-1998, 2001, 2005).

In 1994 she was eliminated from the European Championships in Helsinki in the preliminary stages. At the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, she reached the quarter-finals. At the European Championships in Budapest in 1998 she did not get beyond the preliminary round, and at the World Athletics Championships in Edmonton in 2001 and in Helsinki in 2005 she reached the quarter-finals.

In the 4 x 400 meter relay , she retired with the Belarusian team at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney in advance. At the European Championships in 2002 she came in sixth place with the Belarusian quartet, and in 2004 she won silver at the World Indoor Championships in Budapest together with Natallja Salahub , Ilona Ussowitsch and Svyatlana Ussowitsch . Two years later, the Belarusian relay won bronze at the 2006 World Indoor Championships in Moscow (with the line-up Salahub, Kosak, Juljana Schalnjaruk and Ilona Ussowitsch) and silver at the European Championships in Gothenburg (with the line-up Shalnyaruk, Svyatlana Usovich, Kosak, Ilona Ussowitsch).

In 2008, the Belarusian team with Kosak, Iryna Chljustawa and the two Ussowitschs again won silver at the World Indoor Championships in Valencia . In the same line-up, the team came third at the Summer Olympics in Beijing .
