During this time he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft 1995 in the third round as a total of 70th player by the New Jersey Devils .
The defender moved to North America in the summer of 1995 and played for New Jersey's farm team , the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League , for three years without playing a single game for the Devils in the National Hockey League . After the Russian was transferred to the newly founded Atlanta Thrashers in the summer of 1999 , he made his NHL debut for them in the 1999/2000 season . With the Californians, the Russian came in the 2000/01 game year but only to missions with the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks in the AHL. Following this, Wyschedkewitsch returned to HK Dynamo Moscow. With Dynamo, the left-handed shooter won the Russian championship again in 2000 and 2005, the IIHF European Champions Cup in 2006 and the Spengler Cup in 2008 .
