Ladislav Kohn (born March 4, 1975 in Uherské Hradiště , Czechoslovakia ) is a former Czech ice hockey player who completed a total of 188 games in the National Hockey League for the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim and Atlanta Thrashers . In Europe he played for Espoo Blues , HC Oceláři Třinec , HK CSKA Moscow and Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk, among others .

Career

Ladislav Kohn began his career with Poldi Kladno , for whom he made his debut in the first division of Czechoslovakia in the 1992/93 season . In 1993 he decided to move to North America and played in the Western Hockey League for two years . During the NHL Entry Draft in 1994 he was selected by the Calgary Flames in the seventh round in a total of 175th place. In the 1995/96 season he first played in the Flames' farm team, the Saint John Flames , in the AHL , but also made five appearances in the National Hockey League . In the following two years he continued to play for Saint John before he was transferred to the Toronto Maple Leafs in July 1998 , which in return gave David Cooper to Calgary. For the Maple Leafs, he completed a total of 18 NHL games, but otherwise went on in the AHL on the ice.

Further stations in North America were the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim , Atlanta Thrashers , Detroit Red Wings and again the Calgary Flames. He spent the 2001/02 season in Finland with Espoo Blues from the SM-liiga . He returned there after his last engagement with the Flames in 2003 and played there until 2007. In the summer of 2007 he moved to the Russian super league team HK CSKA Moscow . After a season at CSKA, Kohn signed a contract with Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk from the Continental Hockey League in the summer of 2008 . Another year later he returned to his home country and from then on went on the ice for HC Oceláři Třinec . With this he won the Czech championship title at the end of the 2010/11 season .

In January 2012 the Czech was signed by HC Ambrì-Piotta from the Swiss National League A and signed a contract until the end of the 2011/12 season . After he had secured the league in the National League A with the Leventines, the former national player was signed by HC České Budějovice in October 2012 . He ended his career in 2013.

International

Ladislav Kohn took part as a junior player in the U18 European Junior Championships in 1993 and the 1995 World Junior Championships . It was not until 2008 that he was called back to the Czech national ice hockey team and played for the men's ice hockey world championship in 2008 .
