NHL Entry Draft  <1993 1995>

The 1994 NHL Entry Draft took place on June 28 and 29, 1994 at the Hartford Civic Center in Hartford , Connecticut . In the 32nd edition of the NHL Entry Draft , the teams of the National Hockey League (NHL) selected a total of 286 players in eleven rounds. Canadian defender Ed Jovanovski was selected by the Florida Panthers as the first overall draft pick . Oleg Twerdowski for the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim and Radek Bonk for the Ottawa Senators followed in second and third place . The order of the draft resulted from the reversed final table of the previous season 1993/94 , with the playoff teams after the teams that had missed the playoffs. Meanwhile, the Florida Panthers and Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, who had already been inducted into the NHL last year, received first and second voting rights.

The Entry Draft in 1994 produced a number of outstanding goalkeepers, including Jamie Storr , Dan Cloutier , José Théodore , Marty Turco , Tim Thomas , Johan Hedberg , Evgeni Nabokow and Tomáš Vokoun . Notable field players include Ryan Smyth , Mattias Öhlund , Patrik Eliáš , Chris Drury , Milan Hejduk , Daniel Alfredsson , Steve Sullivan and Tomas Holmström . No actor has yet been considered in the Hockey Hall of Fame .
