After he was active for the Chicago Blackhawks from 2002 to 2004 , Strudwick bridged the lockout in the 2004/05 NHL season in the Hungarian ice hockey league together with his cousin Rob Niedermayer at Ferencváros Budapest . After resumption of the gaming operation in the NHL the links Sagittarius signed before the Games period 2005/06 a contract with the New York Rangers , which he left already after only one year in order for the HC Lugano in the Swiss National League A to play. During the 2006/07 season , however, Strudwick returned to New York, where he was active for the Rangers until 2008, before he got a contract with the Edmonton Oilers in his hometown on July 10, 2008 as a free agent .

The defender stayed with the Oilers for three seasons. He then let his career end in the 2011/12 season at Södertälje SK in the Swedish HockeyAllsvenskan . After the season, Strudwick ended his active career at the age of 36.
