Ladislav Benýšek (born March 24, 1975 in Olomouc , Czechoslovakia ) is a former Czech ice hockey player who has worked for the Minnesota Wild in the National Hockey League , HC Sparta Prague and HC Olomouc in the Czech Extraliga and for a large number of other European clubs were active. The greatest successes of his career include two Czech championship titles with HC Sparta Prague and two world championships with the Czech national team .
Career
Ladislav Benýšek began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown in the youth field of HC Olomouc , for whose professional team he made his debut in the first division , the highest Czechoslovak division, in the 1992/93 season . He remained pointless and punished in three games. Then the defender was ordered back into the youth team before he was selected in the eleventh round of the NHL Entry Draft in 1994 as a total of 266th player by the Edmonton Oilers , for whom he never played. Instead, he ran in the 1994/95 season for their farm team , the Cape Breton Oilers , in the American Hockey League . He then returned to his Czech homeland, where he was under contract for one and a half years with his ex-club HC Olomouc and HC Sparta Prague . He won the national championship for the first time with the capital city in 2000 and in the same year reached second place in the European Hockey League .
On June 23, 2000 Benýšek was selected in the NHL Expansion Draft by the newly founded Minnesota Wild , where he had a regular place in the following three years. The 2002/03 season he finished with their AHL farm team Houston Eros , with whom he won the Calder Cup . Following this season, the former national player moved to HIFK Helsinki in the Finnish SM-liiga . The seasons 2004/05 and 2005/06 began the Czech in each case in the Finnish capital at HIFK and finished them at Leksands IF , first in the HockeyAllsvenskan and after promotion with the Swedes in 2006 in the Elitserien . For the 2006/07 season he signed again with HC Sparta Prague, with whom he was champion for the second time.
The 2007/08 season spent Benýšek with the Dragons de Rouen from the French Ligue Magnus , with whom he won the double from French champions and Coupe de la Ligue . Only in the final of the Coupe de France was the team defeated by the Brûleurs de Loups de Grenoble . He then accepted the contract offer from Totempo HvIK from the Danish AL-Bank Ligaen , for which he also played for a year. For the 2009/10 season he signed with SHC Fassa in the Italian A1 series . The following season he moved to Asiago Hockey within Serie A1 .
At the beginning of December 2011 the Czech was signed by SV Kaltern from the A2 series . At the end of January 2012, he was signed by HC Valpellice , where Benýšek ended the 2011/12 season. After being out of a club for a few months, a brief engagement with the Braehead Clan from the British Elite Ice Hockey League followed in February 2013 . Then he ended his career.

For the Czech Republic , Benýšek took part in the 1997 , 1999 and 2000 World Championships .
