history

As part of the expansion of the Elite Ice Hockey League , which was increased from eight to ten teams for the 2010/11 season , the newly founded club was accepted into the EIHL. In May 2010, player- coach Bruce Richardson was introduced as the head coach of the Braehead Clan.

The Canadians Tim Wedderburn , Jon Landry and Dominic Noël were among the new signings . In the very first season the clan won the “20/20 Hockey Fest”. After the end of the debut season Bruce Richardson returned to Canada, the vacant position of head coach was filled in July 2011 by former NHL player Drew Bannister , who was also hired as a player-coach. For the 2017/18 season, John Tripp took over the post of head coach. Peter Russell is currently the club's head coach.
