The Sheffield Steelers are an ice hockey club founded in 1991 in the city of Sheffield in England . The club has played its home games in the 9,000-seat Sheffield Arena since it was founded .

history

Sheffield has been the British ice hockey champion a total of 12 times (1995, 1996, 1997, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2015, 2016, 2017) . In the 2003/04 season the club became league champions and play-off winners. In 2008, 2009 and 2014 he was also able to win the playoffs of the Elite Ice Hockey League . In addition, the team won the British Knockout Cup in the 2005/06 season and the "20/20 Hockey Fest" in 2009/10. The Steelers have also won the Challenge Cup five times, most recently in 2020 with a 4-3 win over the Cardiff Devils .
