The 2017/18 season was the 15th season of the Elite Ice Hockey League , the highest British ice hockey division . First of the regular season and thus British champions were the Cardiff Devils , who also won the playoff final against the Sheffield Steelers 3-1.

In the regular season, each of the twelve teams played a total of 56 games. The first place becomes British Champion. The eight best-placed teams qualify for the playoffs in which the playoff winner is played out. Each team receives two points for a victory after regular playing time and after overtime, one point for a defeat after overtime or shootout and zero points for a defeat after normal playing time.
