The 2015/16 season was the 13th season of the Elite Ice Hockey League , the highest British ice hockey division . As in the previous year, the first of the regular season and thus British champions were the Sheffield Steelers , who, however, were defeated in the quarterfinals by the eighth main round and last year's playoff winner Coventry Blaze . The playoffs were won by the Nottingham Panthers with a 2-0 final win against the Coventry team.

In the regular season, each of the ten teams played a total of 52 games. The first place became British Champion. The eight best-placed teams qualified for the playoffs, in which the playoff winner was played. For a win after regular playing time and after overtime each team received two points, for a defeat after overtime or shootout one point and for a defeat after normal playing time zero points.
