The 2010/11 New Zealand Football Championship was the seventh season of New Zealand's top division in men's football . It began on October 16, 2010 and ended on April 10, 2011 with the final between Auckland City FC and Waitakere United . In the final Waitakere sat 3-2 and was able to defend his title from the previous year .

First, all teams played in a league consisting of eight teams against each other in the round two, so each team played 14 games. The first four teams after the preliminary round qualified for the championship playoffs, the semi-finals of which were also played in the return leg. However, only one game was played in the final.
