history
Hawke's Bay United (HBU) was founded in 2004 under the name Napier City Soccer as the successor club to the Napier City Rovers. After fifth place in the 2004/05 season opener, they renamed themselves Hawkes Bay United FC to represent not only the city of Napier, but the entire Hawke's Bay region . At the same time, the club's colors were changed to black and white. So far, Hawke's Bay United has not qualified for the championship play-offs in any of the six seasons
