OFC Champions League 2011/12
The OFC Champions League 2011/12 is the eleventh edition of an oceanic championship competition for club teams in football and will take place from October 29, 2011 to May 13, 2012 as usual with eight clubs from seven countries (Fiji, New Zealand, New Caledonia, Papua New Guinea , Solomon Islands, Tahiti and Vanuatu). Auckland City FC of New Zealand qualified as defending champions. The remaining seven teams qualified based on their placements in their domestic league. New Zealand was allowed to send two teams into the competition. A qualifying round will not take place this season either. The eight clubs play the participants in the final in two groups, each with three home and away games.
The winner will qualify for the 2012 FIFA Club World Cup in Japan .
Group stage
Since this season, the two New Zealand representatives are each drawn to a group - in previous competitions they played against each other in a group. One team from New Zealand will play against the champions from Fiji, New Caledonia and Tahiti, the other club against the champions from Vanuatu, the Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea.
