Manel Expósito i Presseguer (born November 29, 1981 in Vic ) is a former Spanish football player .

Career

Expósito first played in his hometown Vic and later moved to FC Barcelona , where he played in the second team. On November 16, 2003, he ran in a friendly against FC Porto for the first team of FC Barcelona, ​​in 2004 he also played in a friendly against Olympique Marseille for the professional team.

Between 2004 and 2011 he was active in various Spanish clubs from the lower leagues before he moved to New Zealand to Auckland City FC in the New Zealand Football Championship . In the 2010/2011 season he played eleven season games there in the league and the OFC Champions League , scoring eight goals. In the league he made it to the final in the play-offs with Auckland, but there the team lost 3-2 to Waitakere United despite the interim equalization to 2-2 by Expósito. One week after the final defeat, Expósito finally won the OFC Champions League on a return leg against Amicale FC , with the Spaniard contributing two goals and two assists to the title win.

In the 2011/2012 season Expósito was able to improve its season record and scored 15 goals and 11 assists in 24 games, won the ASB Charity Cup and the OFC Champions League. He also made his debut at the FIFA Club World Cup against Kashiwa Reysol , which was lost. The following season ended even more successfully for the Spaniard with 17 goals and eight assists in 27 games for Auckland City, but despite two goals in the final of the championship, his team could not win a national title again. The cup final was also lost, but Auckland managed with Expósito to win the OFC Champions League again in the final against rivals from Waitakere. Expósito contributed six goals to this title.

From 2013 to 2015 Expósito played for the Belgian club KAS Eupen and then ended his active career. Since then he has been assistant coach for East Belgium for the fourth year.
