The OFC Champions League 2016 was the 15th edition of an oceanic championship competition for club teams in football. The qualification took place between January 26th and 30th, 2016 in the Cook Islands . The group stage began on April 8, 2016. The mode changes made for the OFC Champions League 2013/14 will be retained. The actual group stage with eleven clubs from the seven best-performing countries (two each from Fiji , New Caledonia , New Zealand and Papua New Guinea , and one each from the Solomon Islands , Tahiti and Vanuatu ) is a qualifying round with the champions from American Samoa , the Cook Islands , Samoa and Tonga upstream. These four teams played the twelfth participant in the group stage in a round-robin tournament everyone against everyone.
In the group stage, twelve teams in three groups of four played the semi-finals, for which the three group winners and the best runner-up qualified. The group stage took place in the form of a tournament in New Zealand in April 2016.

The group stage took place in New Zealand between April 9 and 17, 2016 . The twelve clubs were divided into three groups of four teams each, with the restriction that clubs from the same country could not be drawn into the same group. In each group the teams played against each other once. The group winners and the best runner-up made it to the semifinals .
