Nadi FC (pronunciation [ na.ndi ] FC) is a football club from Nadi , a city on Viti Levu , the main island of the state of Fiji . The home stadium of the club is the Prince Charles Stadium.
history
With the founding of the Nadi Indian Soccer Association in 1937, the Nadi Football Club was also brought into being. The regional competition was held between the teams from Koronubu, Sabeto, Bhartiya and Vutualevu. In 1939 Nadi FC played for the first time in the Inter-District Championship against Nadroga in the first round (2-0). In the semifinals, however, they lost against Rewa FC from Nausori with 0-2.
Nadi is a nine-time Fijian football champion, they won the last two Inter-District Finals in 199 and 2002. With their last title, Nadi FC qualified for the OFC Champions Cup .
OFC Champions Cup 1999
The OFC Champions Cup 1999 took place in Nadi and Lautoka . In the semifinals, Nadi FC beat Central United from New Zealand 1-0, only in the final, as an amateur team, had to admit defeat to South Melbourne FC 5-1.
