North Shore City was an independent Territorial Authority (local authority) in the Auckland regionon the North Island of New Zealand until October 30, 2010. In 2006, North Shore City was the fourth largest city in the country with 205,605 residents.

Amalgamation to the Auckland Council

North Shore City was amalgamated on November 1, 2010 together with the cities of Auckland City , Manukau City and Waitakere City , the districts of Papakura District , Rodney District and part of the Franklin District and the Auckland Region administrative unit to form the Auckland Council .
