Roy Krishna (born August 30, 1987 in Siberia ) is a Fijian football player . He has been with the Indian first division club ATK since 2019 and won the 2020 national championship with them. He also played for the Fijian national soccer team for 13 years . He is considered one of the best football players in Fiji and Oceania.

Career

Krishna began his career with the Fijian club Labasa FC from the province of the same name. In January 2008 he moved to New Zealand, where he completed three point games for Waitakere United from Waitakere City . In May 2008 he completed a two-week trial training session at Wellington Phoenix . He then returned to Waitakere. He also completed trial training at the English club Leeds United and the Dutch club PSV Eindhoven . However, a subsequent change did not take place.

In January 2014, he moved to Wellington Phoenix in the Australian A-League on a free transfer .

For the 2019/20 season he moved to ATK in the Indian Super League , with which he won the championship in March. He scored 15 goals in 21 games and was thus elected to the League's Team of the Tournament .

National team

Krishna has been active for the Fijian national soccer team since 2007. In the game against Tuvalu in the qualifying for the 2010 World Cup on August 25, 2007, he scored three goals. With the Olympic selection , he qualified for the Olympic football tournament taking place in Rio de Janeiro from August 3 to 20, 2016 . He was used in the two group matches against South Korea and Mexico and scored his first goal in the 10th minute in the 5-1 defeat against Mexico with the goal to make it 1-0 in the 10th minute.
