The A-League 2013/14 was the 9th season of the Australian professional football league A-League . Each of the ten teams plays each other three times. The regular season began on October 11, 2013 with the game of Sydney FC against the Newcastle Jets and ended on April 13, 2014 with the game between Sydney and the Perth Glory . The final round began on April 18 and ended with the Grand Final on May 4, 2014. Western Sydney Wanderers are reigning Premier League winners and Central Coast Mariners are reigning Australian champions.
It was the first season of the A-League that was broadcast on free television at SBS . Every Friday, the broadcaster showed a regular season game and all final round games one hour behind.
