Labinot Haliti (born October 26, 1985 in Pristina ) is an Albanian-Australian football player of Kosovar origin. His position is in the attacking midfield .

Life

Labinot first spent his childhood in Kosovo. When the war in Kosovo began in 1998, he and his family left the country and fled to Sydney, Australia .

Career

Haliti was discovered and promoted by Frank Arok , a Serb of Hungarian origin who enjoyed great success as a coach in Australia. For Sydney Olympic and Sydney United Haliti played in the National Soccer League until they were discontinued in 2004. In 2005, he signed a contract with the Newcastle United Jets for the newly founded professional league A-League .

In the summer of 2007 he moved to the Croatian first division club NK Slaven Belupo , which he left after a month. He then came to KS Teuta Durrës in Albania , and during the winter break he moved to the Polish club Łódzki KS . After Łódź was revoked the league license for the 2009/10 season, Haliti left the club in the summer of 2009 and signed a contract with his former club Newcastle Jets. 2012 moved to the newly founded team of Western Sydney Wanderers . With them he became the first Australian team to win the AFC Champions League in 2014 .

At the end of 2006 he was invited to a training camp for the Albanian national team, but he has not yet played an official international match.
