The Central Coast Stadium (previously Bluetongue Stadium for sponsorship reasons ) is a sports stadium in Gosford , Australia that seats 20,119 spectators. Among other things, National Rugby League games are held here . It is mainly known as the home ground of the A-League club Central Coast Mariners .

history

The stadium opened in 2000. In 2003 it was the venue for three group matches of the 2003 Rugby World Cup. The stadium won a full-time tenant in 2005 with the Central Coast Mariners football club , which plays in the A-League that was newly founded in the same year . Rugby games are still occasionally held in the arena, which was built for multiple sports.

Name changes

There have been several name changes since the stadium was built, primarily due to various sponsors:

  • Waterside Park, from 1915;
  • Grahame Park, from 1939;
  • NorthPower Stadium Grahame Park, as of January 2000;
  • Central Coast Stadium at Grahame Park, as of September 23, 2002;
  • Central Coast Express Lawyers' Stadium at Grahame Park, from February 11, 2003;
  • Central Coast Stadium at Grahame Park, starting March 21, 2005;
  • Central Coast Blue Tongue Stadium at Grahame Park, starting March 28, 2006.
  • Central Coast Stadium at Grahame Park, starting January 25, 2014
