Shane Stefanutto (born January 12, 1980 in Cairns ) is an Australian football player of Italian descent. The defender is currently under contract with Brisbane Roar .
Career
Stefanutto played at the Queensland Academy of Sport from 1997 to 1998 , having previously played in the youth division at Atherton (QLD), Saints (QLD), Edge Hill (QLD) and the Southport Warriors. In 1998 he moved to the Brisbane Strikers in the National Soccer League . In 2004 he went to Norway to Lillestrøm SK , where Uwe Rösler was his trainer. After the contract at Lillestrøm had expired, he continued his career with league rivals Lyn Oslo .
In mid-2009 Stefanutto returned to Australia to join the newly formed A-League team North Queensland Fury . When he arrived at the Queensland club, his anterior cruciate ligament tore in a seemingly harmless duel with Adriano Pellegrino from Perth Glory .
On April 13, 2010, Stefanutto signed a contract with Brisbane Roar for the next three seasons.
