Mark Bridge (born November 7, 1985 in Sydney ) is an Australian football player . The striker has been under contract with A-League club Western Sydney Wanderers since 2012 .

Club career

Bridge began his active career in 2003 in the National Soccer League at Parramatta Power . With the closure of the league at the end of the season, his club stopped playing and Bridge joined the Parramatta Eagles , who played in the New South Wales Premier League . With the establishment of the professional league A-League in 2005, Bridge received an offer from the Newcastle United Jets and accepted it. After starting difficulties in his first season, he scored eight goals in his second season with the Jets and was voted “Player of the Year” by his teammates.

2007/08 Bridge reached the final of the A-League championship with his club. Bridge succeeded in the final against the champions of the regular season, the Central Coast Mariners , the only goal of the game and thus ensured the Jets' first championship title.

Mark Bridge missed the 2005 Junior World Cup due to an ankle injury , where Australia only scored two goals in three games without their striker. With the Olympic selection of Australia , the so-called Olyroos , Bridge qualified for the 2008 Olympic football tournament in China, for which he was nominated by trainer Graham Arnold in July 2008.

In the Australian senior team , Bridge made his debut in a friendly against Singapore in March 2008.
